Our team is all together and the trek to Ama Dablam has begun!

On Saturday, the group all met for breakfast and then quickly headed off on a city tour to see some of the famous sights of Nepal. They took in the history and culture of Kathmandu and got some last minute expedition shopping done. The weather was beautiful and they had a last minute logistics meeting on the terrace over a bottle of wine with a lot of laughs. The evening contined with dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in Kathmandu that overlooks the Boudhanath stupa.

The next morning morning the Ama team checked out of the hotel early and caught their flight to Lukla. The weather was perfect and the views were amazing as the plane headed to the mountains. Once the crew was in Lukla with all their bags they quickly started the trek up the Khumbu valley to the town of Monjo. They made their way through some of the smaller villages and eventually settled into the Monjo Guest House for the evening.

On Monday, the team was ready for breakfast around 7:30 and they took in the smells and sights as the villages around them began to wake up. They started trekking a little after 8  a.m. and quickly arrived at the famous town of Namche Bazaar where they’ll spend the next day visiting monasteries and famous sights in the Namche, Kumjung and Kunde region before continuing to Phortse.
