Welcome to Summit Sessions – Alpenglow’s Newest Blog!

Two mountaineers navigating a glacier on a Gasherbrum II Expedition

Welcome to Alpenglow Expedition’s newest blog, Summit Sessions! Consider it a place for expert advice about all things mountaineering. We take a big view of mounatineeing, and our guides work in all disciplines and areas around the world. We love skiing, rock climbing, alpine climbing, and high altitude mountaineering. And we love the treks and hikes that get us to all the beautiful places we climb. Over the course of our last 8 years in business (and our guides’ lifetimes of experience, most of whom have been working in the mountains for more than a decade and playing in them for much longer than that) we have led countless expeditions and treks around the globe. We have taken many climbers from their first steps in crampons on peaks like the volcanoes of Ecuador, or their first experience with high altitude trekking on Kilimanjaro, all the way to iconic peaks like Mount Everest, the Matterhorn, Ama Dablam, and Alpamayo. We love the process of passing on our experience, tips and tricks, and helping each climber become more efficient and comfortable in the mountains. And that is the purpose of Summit Sessions. We wanted a place to answer questions, pass on tips, and help more of you enjoy your climbs and treks in the world’s great mountain ranges. We hope you enjoy this blog and will check regularly for posts. Or “like” us on Facebook or subscribe to our RSS feed to make it even easier to stay up to date. And please feel free to post questions, thoughts, and your suggestions.
