We just chatted with the Alpenglow Aconcagua team and they are getting ready to summit! The strong team has taken full advantage of perfect weather and is in their top camp at just below 6,000 meters. They moved today from Camp II to Camp III, taking less than 3 hours for the climb from 5,300 meters.

Reports are that it’s windy outside, but clear and looking good for a possible summit tomorrow morning. If the weather holds and winds drop as we expect them to, the group will have an ideal day. From there they will be heading down as low as possible on the mountain before winds pick back up (predicted for 60-70 km/hour by tomorrow night).

Stay tuned!
