Alpenglow Expeditions is looking to expand its office team this winter season! We are looking for someone who is hardworking and passionate about the outdoors. Joining our team means being surrounded with people who love the outdoors and want to share their passion with others. Whether you’re chatting about our avalanche courses or discussing how to stay safe in the backcountry, our goal is to provide a unique and excellent experience for each client who desires to explore mountains across the world. Our expeditions and treks were created to combine our guides’ passion for climbing big mountains with their desire to teach others.

 

Front Desk Position

This Front Desk Position for Winter 2020/2021 will be part time based on weekends when we see the bulk of our clientele. The position will be 16-24 hours a week and, dependent on demand, could flex up or down.

This is a customer service centric role and duties will include opening the office prior to client arrival with most mornings starting bright and early at 7:30am. Preparing rentals for the day and greeting clients will entail all morning tasks. Once all teams are in the field, duties shift to include answering phones and being knowledgeable about the services we provide, along with answering client email inquiries and assisting each client with their decision about which course or experience to reserve.

The position will be available starting December 1 with the potential to extend into summer. Being a part of our Front Desk staff  requires you to be comfortable with digital platforms and office work. This new staff member should be customer service oriented and comfortable with interacting with members of the public.

 

*Housing Note

We should also note that if you do not currently reside in the Tahoe area, housing is very difficult to comeby. The ideal candidate will already live in the Tahoe area.

 

Specific skills and abilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Gmail.

• Excellent customer service skills with at least 1 year of experience in guest service

• Able to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature

• Performs well with frequent interruptions and/or distractions
