With the whole team having arrived in Quito on the 22nd, there was time to settle in to the luxuries of Hacienda Rumi Loma, which sits at 3200 meters. A couple of leisurely meals and Jaime’s local tour of the city comprised part one of acclimatization on the 23rd. Yesterday, they woke to rain, but headed out after breakfast for their first day hike to the top of Pasochoa (4200m). Today, the team is heading out for another hike to Rucu Pichincha (4700m), after which they will head to the market town of Otovalo, where the real climbing will begin! Stay tuned for more!
