Kilimanjaro New Year’s Climb Begins!

Two mountaineers navigating a glacier on a Gasherbrum II Expedition

Well, the team has all arrived in Arusha and we are ready to go. We are a group of 6 for this holiday climb, and are excited to once again be climbing the challenging and remote Umbwe to Western Breach Wall Route. This route has been closed for the last 3 years and recently reopened. We expect to see few or no other groups during our climb! The climb to the summit will take us 6 days, culminating (we hope) in a 12-14 hour summit day climbing the Breach Wall and then crossing the entire summit crater past Kili’s receding glaciers to the true summit. Stay tuned for updates from the trail!
