Wet weather made for limited views, but the Eucador Expedition group still had a great day on Rucu Pichincha! Sitting just outside of Quito, and accesible by gondola (to the base of the climbing route), it’s the perfect place for acclimatization, and has some fun rock scrambling near the summit. The entire group reached the top a little after lunchtime, and spent some time on the 15,696 foot summit before descending.

A quick update today found the group practicing skills on Cotopaxi’s glacier, getting ready for a summit bid tomorrow or Friday. Stay tuned!
