Environmental Responsibility

From above and beyond sustainability practices on our expeditions to supporting local non-profits that help keep Tahoe blue, Alpenglow Expeditions recognizes the importance of keeping our playground safe and sacred through consistent effort, beneficial partnerships, and continual commitment to never stop improving.

Social Responsibility

Alpenglow Expeditions works to acknowledge and deconstruct barriers that impede members of the BIPOC community from accessing outdoor spaces and to promote participation in a future in which outdoor spaces are places of inclusion, safety, and mutual stoke for the outdoors.

Creating the pathway towards representation and positive change in the mountains!

Outdoor Representation Scholarship

The BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) Outdoor Representation Scholarship is an educational scholarship that works to address the inequalities that exist for people of the BIPOC community within the outdoor world and its related sports and activities. With awards in the form of educational winter courses as well as winter apparel (jackets, buffs, etc), the scholarship seeks to identify individuals who are passionate about the outdoors and wish to challenge current narratives about what the outdoor community looks like.

By providing access to one of our courses free of charge, we have the opportunity to ignite a spark in individuals that have the potential to create change in our community. Access to these courses, while basic to some, has the ability to open doors for people who otherwise would face significant barriers to entry into this realm.

The recipients will get to choose either an AIARE 1, Backcountry 1.0, or a Private Guided Snowshoe Trip in North or South Lake Tahoe to further their winter sports interests and skills.

Applications open 1/18 and close 2/19. Recipients will be chosen by 3/1.
