From the Summit of Rucu Pichincha, Ecuador
Cliff and Jaime called to report that everyone summited Rucu Pichincha in Ecuador! This is the team’s first acclimatization climb and everyone did great. Then they celebrated with some drinks at a bar called Uncle Ho’s and another called Dirty Sanchez!
Cliff ate cuy – which is guinea pig – at a traditional Ecuadorian restaurant. His thinks “there are a few others on the team that will take that plunge as well, but I think they’re saving their stomachs until we’ve attempted our objective(s).” Ha! Guinea pig is good. They’re going to love it.

The crew was in awe of the stained glass windows in the Basillica, which is a huge gothic church in downtown Quito. Cliff also explained that the gargoyles are all animals of the Galapagos “instead of freakish monsters.” Pretty cool!
They are heading to Tambopaxi tomorrow, more adventures to come!
