Lake Tahoe Snowshoe Tour – Shirley Canyon

Step into a winter wonderland few ever experience. Shirley Canyon, famous for its summer trails, transforms into a whole new adventure when the snow falls.
Wander alongside a rushing creek, beneath towering cliffs, and past frozen waterfalls glistening with ice. This isn’t just a snowshoe hike—it’s a rare chance to explore one of Tahoe’s hidden winter gems. Along the way, look for local wildlife—deer, birds, and perhaps even a fox—while learning about the natural history that shaped Olympic Valley.
Discover a side of Olympic Valley few get to see. This breathtaking canyon, carved into the heart of Olympic Valley, offers views that are nothing short of spectacular. Join a four-hour guided snowshoe tour, departing from our office, located in The Village in Olympic Valley, with flexible start times between 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM, depending on the season.
Your journey climbs 2 miles to the Tram Ridge viewpoint—a secluded plateau perfect for a mid-hike break. Here, you’ll pause for 20-30 minutes to savor a hot drink and snacks, all while soaking in panoramic alpine views. Want to elevate your experience? Add a gourmet touch with a packed lunch from Wildflour Bakery for $20 per person. Simply contact Alpenglow Expeditions by the Friday before your tour at 10 AM to arrange your meal and share any dietary needs.
